What’s it about?
The example of Rojava illustrates just how important the role of women is in building a democratic society. Kurdish women play a vital role in all areas of life and, in doing so, also act as the ‘guardians’ of democratic values. In our talk, we aim to discuss our understanding of democracy. At the same time, we will explain what democratic confederalism is, using Rojava as an example. To what extent do women play a key role there (legal system, self-defence, leadership, education, art and culture, etc.)? How can some of these values be generalised and applied to all social structures and societies?
Aim of the presentation
The aim is to realise utopias and to build them up not merely as dreams but as goals within organisational, academic and political work.
