What’s it about?
A group of white people who stand in solidarity with migrants has embarked on a theatrical journey to create theater addressing EU border policies and in solidarity with SOS Balkanroute. In the process, we realized that we can’t really do forum theater on this topic because we are more guilty and responsible than affected.
This evening, we’ll share our reflections on this process and, using methods from Augusto Boal’s “Rainbow of Desires,” work with you - the audience - to figure out how we can free our personal “Jesus” from the barbed wire of his privileges, his comforts, and the security of belonging to the “good guys,” in order to find true redemption.
To that end, we’re looking for stories from you and from us - stories in which we either did something anyway, even though we knew it stood in the way of our collective liberation, or in which we didn’t do something, even though it would have benefited our collective movement for liberation.
